So, Why Joy? – Janice Coyle

Funny laughing curly girl with a butterfly on his nose. Healthy smile with white teeth. Free breathing concept.

Why not Love? Peace? Awakening? Ascension? Prosperity?
Well, first of all, joy is fun! Joy is another word for enchantment, delight, adventure! What if joy is in everything?

Wouldn’t it be great?

Wouldn’t it be great to live in joy and wonder regardless of what is going on? Wouldn’t life be just plain FUN? How about living a romantic and inspiring adventure in every moment?
What about a brand new life every minute?

Guess what? It’s POSSIBLE!

OK, yes, I’m a dreamer. But you know that already from reading the ABOUT page. But wait! After 71 years here, a little secret has been discovered! Shhh.

Fun is possible, no matter what is going on, IF we live each moment as only this moment!

And YES! That’s nothing new! Many books have been written telling us to live in the Now! But here’s the thing: How to do this?

So HOW?

This website is dedicated to the hows of living in joy. Just in case you have sometimes lived joy-challenged like me.

So today, let’s talk briefly about one of the hows – a very easy one.

Awaken your awareness.

Start by really seeing things right now! Go ahead! What are you looking at? Well, yes, dummy me! You are looking at these words, of course! So ok, look at them. Look at the kind of typeface, the spacing. Color? Look at how the words make a pattern on this page.

That was that moment, now this one: Look at this page as if you were blind before this moment. Soften your gaze. Remember, you are seeing for the first time! You don’t know what it means – all these scribbles!

Ok next moment: Look randomly at one sentence here, just one. Read it.

Are you smiling?

You kidding? I’m in a hurry!

The simple fact is that our minds are rushing around, with meaningless thoughts, all the time! Not to worry. It’s just a mind, being a typical mind, like everybody else’s. It tells us we don’t have time. It says we must do this, must do that! But why?

To have joy is to be a child again. See the world and everything for the first time. If this can be achieved, every second is an adventure! Every new minute can be a NEW minute.
That’s what it was like when we were children. So let’s be children.

Try it and let’s see what unexpected and delightful adventures await!

I dare you!

A morning example

Awakening in bed this morning there was an awareness of my body. It was still very tired from a late night. The body was observed, felt, accepted. Then there was the slow getting up, the reluctance was felt – interesting!

The sun shining in from the window beckoned. The body walked to the window. There was the sight of Lillie, the ash tree, who almost died last year. She is radiantly alive now. In fact, her beautiful green dress is blowing like she is dancing or something!

A smile is felt on my face. That feeling of joy for Lilly. I’m so happy that she is happy now.

Thank you, Lillie!

An intention to find joy in each moment was inspired. Today, coffee would be prepared slowly, the smells enjoyed, the taste savored.

Taming the mind

They say that worry is like praying for what we don’t want. But the mind is built for worry! There is a thing of fear that is always trying to protect us. So, when the mind is doing its worry thing, it can be converted to joy through sensuality! Amazing!

It’s weird! But the mind relaxes when we just stop and really see something, smell something, hear stuff – really HEAR it.

And when the mind relaxes, it is then open to higher intelligence, wise guidance, and the wonderful creativity to solve or achieve anything.

Then we will be amazed at what incredible adventures simple sensations can bring anytime anywhere. That is, IF they are truly experienced.

Let’s play, enjoy each momentary adventure! Let’s be children again!

Today, we choose FUN!

  1. It’s interesting to note that everything has the meaning we ascribe to it, including the words on the page! Thank you for getting me to look around with new eyes!
