Why I Write – Janice Coyle

My mission as a writer is to express what I have learned in my life – especially the valuable insights that have been most hard-gained.  They have sprung from addiction, codependence, critical illness, but also survival, redemption and a return to Home.

I think of writing for the young children in my family and the young people growing into full adulthood. It would be lovely if they come to some of these insights sooner in life than I. They would then perhaps express themselves and live with a larger wisdom and understanding of their potential, their uniqueness, and their soul’s reason for being here.

My passion since childhood has been for everyone to know what they really are as unique and precious expressions of Source – gifted with talents meant to be honed and blossom as beauty, love, nobility, knowledge and joy. I would love to inspire them if I can. More inspiration is needed in this world. And, we are being tasked to create a New Earth – one where all beings are loved and honored – first a country then a world where greed, war and cruelty have become nightmares of the past, replaced by shared compassion and understanding.

I’ve dreamed of a new kind of world for as long as I can remember – one I hope these children will experience, one I can experience too. In these dreams, I have seen in great detail how natural community is established, how the varied species cohabit and co-create in harmony.  I’ve seen all varieties of life in communication with all others. Amazing!  Shall I dare to write about it?

Yes!  I will dare.

In the coming days, I will be writing about these dreams and invite you to participate in the visioning of the New Earth.  First a vision, then a plan, then we build.

Interestingly, I’ve discovered that I also want to inspire myself with what comes forth from within when I surrender and allow myself to be an instrument of higher perspective.  Sometimes in little moments, less rare these days, I get glimpses of inspiration, moments of grace that push me on when I remember to listen.

The life of a writer is very solitary. One must be dedicated and open to guidance – open even when inspiration steps away. But the passion I’ve had to share what I’ve learned and the insights that keep coming into my consciousness, is so insistently there it can no longer be refused. Not if I’m to be at peace.

My mission in my writing is clear. My letting go and trusting is a muscle being tested and strengthened finally – urged on by an inner Coach whose voice becomes louder and louder as she sings:

“It is time.”
